Joyce Engels Bond, 96, of Birmingham passed away June 14, 2007. The memorial service was Thursday, June 21, 2007 at South Highland Presbyterian Church in Birmingham with the Rev. Denny Read officiating. A memorial service will be held at a later date in Tulsa, Okla. Memorials will go to the American Cancer Society.

Ms. Bond was the youngest of seven children born to George Washington and Susan Electa Thorpe Engels and resided in Tulsa, Okla. for 50 years during which she retired as an office manager for Crane Packing Company. She often volunteered at Hillcrest Hospital in Tulsa. Later, Ms. Bond moved to the Birmingham area to live closer to her youngest son, George. At different times, she resided at the Episcopal Place, Ridgeview Assisted Living and Columbiana Health and Rehabilitation Center. She was named Senior Mrs. Columbiana Health and Rehabilitation Center 2007. Also, she was a member and volunteer at South Highland Presbyterian Church in Birmingham.

She is survived by sons, William H. (Lisa) Bond, Philip Bond and George W. (Susan) Bond; 19 grandchildren; several great-grandchildren; and some great-great-grandchildren and other relatives
