The Greater Birmingham Association of Home Builders&8217; (GBAHB) Remodelers Council and Boral Bricks presented the 2nd Annual Alabama Remodeling Excellence Awards on March 2 to recognize outstanding remodeling professionals.

The prestigious awards were given in 15 different categories, which were broken down by genre and price.

The first place recipient for outstanding exterior remodel was given to Baugher Design & Remodel, Inc. and JDF Construction was awarded second place.

Precision HomeCRAFTERS, LLC took home first place for outdoor living projects and JDF Construction was the second place recipient.

In the area of universal design, McKay Building Company won first place and Baugher Design & Remodel finished second.

The following groups received first place awards for the respective genres: Precision HomeCRAFTERS, LLC, residential specialty projects; Roddy O. Sample & Associates, space renovation; DF Hughes Construction, whole house remodel under $250,000; Counter Dimensions, bath remodel $20,000 to $50,000 and under $40,000; McKay Building, Inc., bath remodel over $50,000; Kurtts Construction, whole house remodel $250,000 to $500,000; and Oak Alley, Inc., whole house remodel over $500,000.

Best in show was awarded to Kurtts Construction for its outstanding whole house remodel project and the reserved champion for best in show was Oak Alley, Inc for its whole house remodel project
