Thomas Pat Dude Lucas

Thomas Pat (Dude) Lucas, 81, passed away Jan. 3, after a long battle with Dementia. Mr. Lucas was well known for his strong work ethic and his love for playing music. Even in his last days he loved to watch videos of himself playing his guitar. Mr. Lucas was preceded in death by his parents Pat and Velma Lucas, three sisters, six brothers, and one grandson. He is survived by his wife of 56 years; Jewel Marie Lucas, four daughters; Virginia (Delbert) Arthur of Montgomery, Darlene (Kenny) Smitherman of Montevallo, Patricia (Kenneth) Boyd of West Blocton, Donna (Lonnie) Duncan of Montevallo and one son; Gary (Beverly) Lucas of Montevallo. He is also survived by one sister; Elizabeth Cannon of Montevallo, 17 grandchildren, two step-grandchildren, 20 great-grandchildren, nine step-great-grandchildren and a host of nieces and nephews. Visitation was held Thursday, Jan. 4, from 6-8 p.m. at Rockco Funeral Home in Montevallo. Funeral services were held Friday, Jan. 5, at 2 p.m. at Community Baptist Church in Brierfield. Burial was held at Randall Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, the family requests that donations be made to Community Baptist Church in his name. Brothers Jimmy Pritchett and Eddie Ruddick officiated
