SPECIAL TO THE REPORTER
Revival is around the corner at Wilsonville Baptist Church.
Nationally known evangelist David Ring of Franklin, Tenn. will speak on Sunday, Jan. 21 at 10 a.m., presenting his powerful testimony. Born with cerebral palsy, it was the love of Jesus Christ that transformed him from what he calls &8220;a cerebral palsy victim into a cerebral palsy victor.&8221;
Ring has been a guest on the Old Time Gospel Hour and the 700 Club and has spoken at numerous conferences, youth rallies and state conventions. Preaching engagements take him to over 200 churches annually. Their revival is just one way the church reaches out the community each year.
The church sponsors other town-wide events each year, including a vacation Bible school and a block party that features food, inflatables, games and others kid-friendly attractions.
What Baptist congregation is complete without their share food and fellowship? On the first Wednesday of each month, the congregation holds a pot-luck dinner and sponsors a lunch for senior citizens every second Wednesday of the month at 11 a.m.
Rev. Steve Thomas is the current pastor of the 127-year-old church, which is located on the corner of Church and Main Street in Wilsonville.
