Montevallo leaders are toying with the idea of building a skate park in the city.

The Montevallo Parks and Recreation Board recommended last week that the city council explore the cost and interest of building a park.

The board left any decisions, such as a possible location to the council, which plans to seek public input.

Councilwoman Hollie Cost said other factors such as liability would also have to be considered.

City leaders say the park would provide children a safe place to play.

&8220;The kids are already skating,&8221; said Cost. &8220;This would give them a place to congregate and skate safely.&8221;
