County revenues exceed expectations

The message to the county commission from finance manager Butch Burbage was a good one Monday. Shelby County&8217;s revenues exceeded expectations during the recently concluded fiscal year.
Burbage&8217;s fourth-quarter update to the commission also showed all major county offices and departments finishing under or right at budget.
Sales tax revenues produced $2.2 million more than expected, coming in at $12.6 million. County reserve funds are growing accordingly, Burbage said
