A Helena man confessed to police yesterday that he fabricated an armed robbery because &8220;he wanted to get off work 30 minutes early,&8221; according to Sgt. Brad Flynn.

Colby Odom, 26, filed the report Thursday night, saying two men robbed him at gunpoint while he was delivering pizza.

Helena police worked the case for a day, interviewing possible suspects. However, Odom&8217;s tale started to unravel as police noted parts of his report were too specific, &8220;like one suspect was wearing a turtleneck in the middle of summer.&8221;

Flynn said Odom confessed to making up the crime and will be charged with a misdemeanor.
