Montevallos Hall named ASWA athlete of the year

The honors keep coming for one of Montevallo&8217;s most decorated players.
James Hall was recognized last week by the Alabama Sportswriters Association as the Small College Athlete of the Year for 2006.
For the past season, the 6-5 guard was named the Gulf South Conference East Division Player of the Year and has been named First Team All-GSC for two consecutive seasons.
Named co-MVP of the 2006 NCAA South Regional Tournament, Hall averaged 17 points and 11 rebounds in three games as the Falcons beat Arkansas-Monticello in overtime to earn their first regional title.
In the 2004-2005 season, Hall became Montevallo&8217;s first NCAA First-Team All-American and finished his career with 1,144 points &045; averaging 17.6 points and 6.9 rebounds.
Hall becomes the second Falcon to be recognized as the Small College Athlete of the Year by the ASWA. Former baseball player Tony Cappola, was the recipient of the award in 2001
