Montevallo man faces attempted murder charges

A Montevallo man has been arrested in connection with a Memorial Day shooting incident.

According to Montevallo Police Chief Kevin Peters, Anthony Ross, 22, of Montevallo was arrested and charged with attempted murder, assault first degree and shooting into an occupied dwelling the following week.

According to Peters, an altercation escalated into a shooting incident on Monday, May 29 at about 9:45 p.m. in the 400 block of Selma Road. An individual, unrelated to the altercation, received a gunshot wound to the arm while in their residence.

The individual was transported to the hospital where they were treated and released later that night.

According to the Shelby County Sheriff&8217;s Office, Ross remains in the Shelby County Jail at this time on $150,000 total bond, $50,000 for each charge
