Colonial Promenade coming to life

The Colonial Promenade shopping center in Alabaster is coming to life with the second business opening there this week and others slated to follow later in the summer and fall.
&uot;Star Wars III: Revenge of the Sith&uot; opened after midnight on Thursday, May 19 in the new The AmStar Stadium 14 Cinema in Alabaster.
Cam Ward, executive director of the Alabaster Industrial Development Board, said Lowe’s, also a part of the Colonial Promenade off Interstate 65 in Alabaster, plans to hold its grand opening today, Wednesday, July 13.
He also provided a list of other stores slated to follow.
Ward said of the Colonial Promenade, &uot;I think this shopping center already has a lot of people excited.&uot; He added that with every new store opening, the center is becoming a &uot;more convenient place to shop in Shelby County.&uot;
According to the list provided by Ward, other businesses at the Colonial Promenade are slated to open as follows:
Bible Factory Outlet, Aug. 15; Old Navy, Aug. 17; Wal-Mart, Aug. 24; Rue 21, Sept. 1; Bed, Bath and Beyond, Sept. 5; Ross, Sept. 12; Perry Allen, Sept. 15; Belk, Oct. 12; and Books-a-million, Oct. 30.
Other smaller shops are expected to open by Oct. 15.
