Vincent names new town clerk, municipal judge

The town of Vincent has a new clerk and a new municipal judge.
Mayor Terry Allen recently announced the appointments of Municipal Judge Jeffrey G. Hester and Town Clerk Becky Landers.
&uot;These two individuals bring a depth of talent and experience to their respective positions,&uot; said Allen. &uot;They reflect my commitment to the continued growth and community unity of Vincent.&uot;
According to Allen, after working for three years with the Shelby County District Attorney, Hester moved into private practice three years ago.
He is a native of Baldwin County who attended Mississippi College School of Law.
He now makes his home in Sterrett with his wife of nine years, Anna; their son Grant; and another son on the way.
The Hesters attend Briarwood Presbyterian Church.
Hester said family comes first, then his law practice and when he can find a few minutes of spare time, he can be found on the golf course.
Hester said he &uot;feels honored to be serving the community by working through the municipal court of Vincent.&uot;
&uot;It is really evident that he has a passion and excitement about the law and will bring a knowledge of law and respect into the courtroom,&uot; Allen said. &uot;The town of Vincent is honored to have a person of Jeffrey Hester’s caliber as municipal judge.&uot;
Allen said Landers comes to Vincent from Ebsco Industries where she served as a liaison with Australia, New Zealand and Turkey.
A native of Vincent, who now makes her home in Fayetteville, Allen said Landers looks forward to working closely with the residents and is happy to be associated with Vincent once again.
She and her husband, Burt, have two daughters, Brandy and Brooke, and a couple of horses.
Landers said she, &uot;has always found the people of Vincent warm and friendly and admires the serenity that seems to surround the community.
