In a bizarre twist of events, the Calera Police Department obtained arrest warrants for two home-renters for allegedly burning a mobile home just five days after they were allegedly robbed at the same location.
The home of Boise Oden, 33, and his wife, Sara Oden, 35, was reported robbed on May 6 by two men armed with handguns and wearing bandanas over their faces, according to Calera Police Chief Jim Finn.
The suspects robbed the occupants of jewelry, currency and a firearm, according to information released by the Calera Police.
An arrest warrant was issued for Myron Keith Lilly of Montevallo for first degree robbery and first degree assault, carrying $30,000 and $20,000 bonds respectively.
Finn said Calera Police are searching for at least two other suspects in connection with the robbery, but no other warrants had been issued at presstime.
On May 11, just five days later, the mobile home rented by the Oden’s at 3185 County Road 16, was destroyed by fire at about 3:30 a.m., Finn said.
Warrants were obtained yesterday for the arrest of Boise Oden on charges of second degree arson and Sara Oden for conspiracy to commit arson.
Lilly is not a suspect in the arson case but is wanted for the robbery, Finn said.
Officials said they believe the two incidents are unrelated.
&uot; There is no reason to believe that (the robbery) didn’t happen,&uot; Finn said.
Both cases remain under investigation
