Invasion girls win Florida tourney,

The Invasion girls fast pitch softball team of Birmingham won the 16 and under division of the 2002 4th Annual Mullet Fast Pitch Classic held in Niceville, Fla. on June 14, 15 and 16.
In pool play of the Niceville Tournament, Invasion defeated Southern Heat of Daphne 9-0, tied the Enterprise Outburst 0-0 and defeated the Panama City Lady Lightning 3-0.
In single elimination play of the tournament, Invasion defeated the Vipers of Birmingham 6-4, and the Extreme of Birmingham 6-4.
In the championship game Invasion defeated the Emerald Coast Comments of Fort Walton Beach 4-3.
Invasion pitcher Lindsay Brogdon (8-1) was named Most Valuable Player of the 16 and under division of
the Mullet Fast Pitch Classic with a 4-0 record including 27 strikeouts.
Brogdon also had a double and a triple and two RBI in the championship game.
