Bandits win 7U state title

The Alabaster Bandits 7-under baseball team celebrated more than just the first day of summer June 21, as they won the USSSA State Championship in Alabaster.

The Bandits averaged 16 runs per game, beating the Meridianville Red Sox twice, 17-9 and 16-8, topping South Alabama, 18-3, and taking down HRTA Heat, 16-8.

The win qualifies the Bandits for the USSSA 7U World Series in Dalton, Ga., Jul 9-12.

Team members are: David Blair, Nathan Burrow, "Goose" Crowder, Nick Freeman, Owen Finley, David Harris, Carson Hobbs, Colson Lawrence, Bailey Parsons, Sawyer Pate, Cannon Wilton. Head coach is Doug Pate and assistants are Allen Lawrence and Jay Hobbs.
