PELHAM – Cahaba Valley Elks Lodge 1738, in partnership with the city of Pelham, invite residents to the annual Flag Day Celebration on Sunday, June 10, at 2 p.m. at the Pelham Civic Complex.
This free patriotic event will include a presentation of historical U.S. flags, recognition of all branches of the military and veterans and opportunities to sing patriotic songs. But perhaps most importantly, it will celebrate freedom and the Grand Old Flag.
The highlight of this year’s ceremony will be a reenactment of the raising of the U.S. Flag at Iwo Jima by the Marine Corps League.
The guest speaker and master of ceremony for this year’s celebration will be Rep. Matt Fridy.
The always-popular singing trio, Homeland, will kick off the musical entertainment. Their inspirational songs are sure to raise people’s spirits and make everyone proud to be an American. Other musical selections will be provided by Shelby County’s singing patriot, Rob Robinson.
